Si è svolta stamane al cimitero comunale, la seduta di giunta presieduta dal sindaco Alberto Arcidiacono nel corso della quale l’assessore ai Servizi a Rete Geppino Pupella ha presentato ai colleghi assessori la proposta di variante al piano di ristrutturazione urbanistica del cimitero monumentale di Monreale. Il piano così come ha puntualizzato l’assessore Pupella, individua una serie di aree attualmente a verde pubblico nonche l’area di sedime della ex casa del custode da destinare per i nuovi loculi in variante al piano attuale. Nelle aree individuate, secondo il nuovo piano si prevede di poter costruire nuovi loculi , che potranno essere realizzate in parte dall’amministrazione comunale ed in parte dalle confraternite .
Inoltre il primo cittadino ha informato la giunta che già gli uffici hanno predisposto un progetto , per circa 108 loculi prefabbricati , che già ha ottenuto il parere della Soprintendenza ai Beni culturali e che sarà finanziato con proventi comunali , loculi che potrebbero essere realizzato entro 3 mesi. L’ufficio progettazione del Comune di Monreale ha portato avanti anche questo progetto che non appena verrà definito, potrà dare temporaneamente una soluzione alle salme attualmente giacenti .
