MONREALE – Tutto esaurito e standing ovation finale per il concerto inaugurale della 63esima edizione della Settimana Internazionale di Musica Sacra a Monreale, organizzata dalla Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana in collaborazione con il Comune e l’Arcidiocesi.
Sul podio uno specialista di musica antica e barocca come Francesco Maria Sardelli, che ha conquistato il pubblico dirigendo la blasonata Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana e il valente Coro Lirico Mediterraneo nell’imponente Messa in do minore K427, la grande “incompiuta” di Mozart, che per potenza e vastità – fatta salva la diversa atmosfera – è comparabile agli esiti estremi del Requiem. Sotto l’immagine benedicente del Cristo Pantocràtore si è dipanata una pagina in cui si fondono drammaticità e lirismo, esaltati dalla bella prova dei complessi e dei solisti vocali Carolina Lippo (soprano), Rosa Bove (mezzosoprano), Markus Miesenberger (tenore) e Rocco Cavalluzzi (basso).
La pagina mozartiana è stata preceduta dal raro Concerto in sol maggiore per mandolino e orchestra di Hummel, che ha dato modo di apprezzare la straordinaria prova del mandolinista Carlo Aonzo, confermata dall’esecuzione del bis, “Viale fiorito”, capolavoro di Giovanni Gioviale, tra i massimi esponenti della scuola mandolinistica non solo Siciliana.
Tra i presenti in Duomo, con l’arcivescovo Michele Pennisi a fare gli onori di casa, il sindaco della città, Alberto Arcidiacono, il neo eletto Rettore dell’Università di Palermo, Massimo Midiri, il presidente del consiglio comunale di Monreale Marco Intravaia, il commissario straordinario della Foss Nicola Tarantino e la direttrice artistica Gianna Fratta e gli assessori comunali al Turismo Geppino Pupella e alla Polizia Municipale Paola Naimi, che ha impaginato l’intensa programmazione dell kermesse che per ampiezza e contenuto ha assunto le dimensioni di un vero festival
Per il sindaco, Alberto Arcidiacono, si tratta di “un’occasione per Monreale di ripartire con artisti di fama internazionale e un cartellone ricchissimo. Nel contempo con ‘Note di gusto’ si vogliono portare alla conoscenza del pubblico i vini della doc Monreale, eccellenza del territorio. Il valore aggiunto è il pubblico in presenza, traguardo che fino a qualche mese fa sembrava impossibile”.
Stasera, mercoledì 20 ottobre alle 21, Francesco Sardelli torna per dirigere nella navata centrale del Cattedrale normanna l’orchestra barocca Modo antiquo, da lui fondata nel 1984 riscuotendo successi in tutto il mondo. Il programma è interamente dedicato alla musica sacra del “prete rosso” Antonio Vivaldi, di cui Sardelli è uno dei maggiori interpreti di sempre.
