Il Prefetto Giuseppe Forlani “Legalità e sviluppo due facce della stessa medaglia”
Si è svolto stamane, nell’Aula Consiliare del Comune di Monreale, il seminario sul tema: I beni confiscati sono “Beni Comuni”, promosso dalla Prefettura di Palermo in collaborazione con il Comune di Monreale. Nel corso dei lavori, diretti dal Prefetto Giuseppe Forlani, è stato affrontato e approfondito il ruolo delle Amministrazioni locali e dei soggetti esponenziali della società civile nella destinazione e gestione dei beni confiscati, nell’ambito dei progetti di sviluppo del territorio. In tale contesto è stato, altresì, presentato lo “Schema di regolamento per la disciplina dell’utilizzo dei beni confiscati”, elaborato in seno al Tavolo permanente sui beni confiscati istituito presso la Prefettura di Palermo. Il sindaco di Monreale Alberto Arcidiacono ha ringraziato il Prefetto Forlani per avere scelto Monreale come sede dell’importante seminario, che darà un notevole contributo al riutilizzo dei beni confiscati alla mafia per lo sviluppo sociale e imprenditoriale del territorio. Notevole interesse ha destato la relazione dell’assessore ai beni confiscati del Comune di Monreale Letizia Sardisco, ha fatto una attenta disamina della problematica sostenendo che: “Il riscatto del territorio dalla criminalità mediante restituzione dei beni alla comunità con funzione sociale positiva è la stella polare che deve guidare le azioni delle istituzioni. È necessario ampliare gli orizzonti di riuso dei beni, renderli contemporanei, adattarli alle esigenze della società”. Il Prefetto Forlani nel rimarcare che: “La legalità e lo sviluppo sono due facce della stessa medaglia” ha sottolineato la necessità di rilanciare il ruolo dei consorzi e delle associazioni del privato sociale. All’evento che ha visto la partecipazione di numerosi sindaci della provincia, erano presenti, oltre ai vertici delle locali forze di polizia, anche Mons. Michele Pennisi, arcivescovo di Monreale e Mons. Giuseppe Marciante, Vescovo di Cefalù, che hanno portato il loro saluto. Nel corso della conferenza sono intervenuti prestigiosi relatori, fra i quali Maria Rosa Turchi, direttore generale dell’Agenzia Nazionale per i beni confiscati ed è stato proiettato il filmato sull’attività delle cooperative che gestiscono beni confiscati.
