Ad annunciarlo, durante la conferenza stampa svoltasi in questi giorni a Villa Niscemi, è l’ Assessore ai Beni Culturali e Unesco del Comune di Monreale Ignazio Davì.
” Un risultato importante voluto ed ottenuto con grande determinazione ed impegno volto alla valorizzazione del prezioso patrimonio artistico culturale della nostra Città ,conclamato anche dalla prestigiosa rivista Bell’Italia che dedica a Monreale la sua ultima copertina.
Nelle Vie dei Tesori 2020, Monreale presenta un circuito formato da 10 siti e 3 passeggiate che racchiude molti( ma non tutti) dei propri tesori fin ad oggi nascosti e mai valorizzati.
Monreale è il Duomo, patrimonio dell’Unesco, ma non solo il Duomo, sottolinea Davì.
La nostra Città è ricca di cultura,arte e storia :
basta passeggiare per le sue vie e piazze e farsi affascinare da scorci e “tesori” di straordinaria bellezza.
Chiese nascoste con inaspettati e sontuosi interni barocchi, palazzi nobiliari affacciati sulla Conca d’oro , biblioteche cinquecentesche, che di solito sfuggono al visitatore offuscato dalla magnificenza del Pantocreatore”.
È un primo passo afferma Ignazio Davì, reso possibile grazie ad uno straordinario lavoro di squadra tra enti e privati, alla preziosa collaborazione della Arcidiocesi ,della associazione Venero e della Pro Loco di Monreale, e al suo presidente la prof. Amelia Crisantino a cui va la mia sincera gratitudine per aver messo a disposizione del progetto il proprio bagaglio culturale.
Un ringraziamento va a tutti i volontari ” amanti dell’ arte e della cultura”, ad una società civile che si riscopre attenta e pronta a dare il proprio contributo, e ai ragazzi del Comitato Pioppo Comune ideatori della passeggiata ‘ fiume Sant’Elia’ ,luogo riscoperto grazie alla loro caparbietà e che merita davvero una visita.
È doveroso sottolineare,infine, che la manifestazione si svolgerà in totale sicurezza attenendosi scrupolosamente alle norme vigenti in materia di Covid 19″.
Fa eco ed esprime grande soddisfazione la vice presidente del Consiglio Comunale Letizia Sardisco : “
L’inserimento di Monreale nel festival è certamente uno dei più grandi successi di questa amministrazione. Oltre a rappresentare un importante riconoscimento artistico culturale, questa manifestazione inaugura un turismo diffuso tra i tesori straordinari di cui si pregia la nostra cittadina e che fino ad oggi sono rimasti offuscati dalla magnificenza del duomo normanno malgrado il loro valore artistico inestimabile. Un’opportunità per tutte le strutture ricettive di Monreale, se solo si pensa che lo scorso anno ha prodotto sulla Sicilia circa 5 milioni di indotto turistico tra alberghi, ristoranti, trasporti e shopping. L’emergenza sanitaria quest’anno non consentirà probabilmente il raggiungimento di analoghi risultati, ma abbiamo posto le basi per un futuro migliore.
