38° Anniversario dell’omicidio del capitano Mario D’Aleo, dell’appuntato Giuseppe Bommarito e del carabiniere Pietro Morici. Oggi la commemorazione
Stamane si é svolta la cerimonia commemorativa in occasione del 38’ anniversario dell’omicidio per mano mafiosa del capitano Mario D’Aleo, dell’appuntato Giuseppe Bommarito e del carabiniere Pietro Morici. Alla manifestazione vi hanno preso parte, fra gli altri, i familiari delle vittime, in rappresentanza del sindaco Alberto Arcidiacono l’Assessore Geppino Pupella, , il presidente del Consiglio comunale Marco Intravaia e numerose autorità civili, militari e religiose fra i quali l’arcivescovo Michele Pennisi , il generale dell’Arma dei Carabinieri Rosario Castello e il comandante provinciale dell’Arma colonnello Arturo Guarino . Nel corso della cerimonia é stata deposta una corona e un fascio di fiori ai piedi della lapide. Il capitano Mario D’Aleo, è stato un ufficiale dell’Arma dei Carabinieri, assassinato da cosa nostra. L’Ufficiale dopo la sua morte è stato insignito della Medaglia D’Oro al valor civile alla memoria . E’ stato comandante della Compagnia Carabinieri di Monreale venne assassinato da un commando di sicari di “Cosa Nostra”. I killer a bordo di due motociclette trucidarono D’Aleo sotto la sua abitazione in via Cristoforo Scobar a Palermo. Mentre l’appuntato Giuseppe Bommarito ed il carabiniere Pietro Morici che attendevano l’ufficiale, furono uccisi in macchina, a poca distanza dal portone. D’Aleo aveva preso il comando della Compagnia di Monreale dopo l’omicidio del Capitano Emanuele Basile, da cui ereditò le indagini sulla mafia dell’Hinterland monrealese.
